BS 3468 1986 Austenitic Iron
James W Shenton can produce Grey Iron and SG Ductile Iron based grades of Ni Resist. Typically they are used for high temperature aplications such as turbocharger systems. These irons are alloyed with Nickel and Chromium to offer good resistance to sea water and alkaline corrosion, scaling resistance, thermal expansion, frictional wear, oxidation, structural stability, cryogenic applications and erosion. Grades of Ni Resist can also be used for applications where non magnetisable features are required.
Ni Resist castings are cheaper to manufacture than Stainless Steel and offer better machining qualities. These grades offer all the design benefits associated with Grey and SG Iron.
Austenitic grades offered are certified by an independent UKAS laboratory.
