Architectural Castings  

 

James W Shenton has been fortunate to be a part of many, prestigious cast iron heritage & conservation projects, in particular a contract for alterations to railings at St. Pauls Cathedral. We were given access to original drawings by Sir Christopher Wren to reproduce pattern work.

 

Some of the Architectural Castings we have supplied:

  • Side gates, finials and railings for St Pauls Cathedral

  • St Matthews Church, Walsall  Floor Grids in SG Iron

  • Gothic Traceries in excess of 400kg's, Priory Hospital, Birmingham. 

  • Railings & Gates for Key Hill Cemetery

  • Cast iron windows for Titford Pump House restoration.

  • We cast a number of complex cylinder castings including castings for both railway engines and Steam Traction engines.

Pattern making for this type of work requires great attention to detail and we retain the skills to offer intricate hand carved patterns. We are proud to contribute to the UK's cast iron heritage. See Gallery.
